Poor Ping! By Joanne Just a few weeks after his first day as a Senator, Panfilo Lacson already has a money laundering case filed against him. Even during election campaign period, it is no secret that Ping Lacson was one of the most criticized candidate. When Senate 2001 had a short chat with him just a week ago, he stated that these criticisms were purely demolition jobs against him and were not true. He also said that he always made it sure that he told the public the truth. (At this point, it is a little hard to make a choice of whether to believe him or not, judging fom the Senate hearings that has been going on the past week.) As of now, according to him, it is true that he regrets ever being involved into politics. He said that if he could turn back time, he will make a different choice. The only alternative now is to just move on and face the consequences and the new responsibilities he has as a newly-elected Senator. Right now, people have been accusing him of being a part of the kidnap for ransom syndicates. According to those against him, he opened accounts in banks in the United States and other countries and in these bank accounts, he puts his share of money from this kidnap for ransom stuff. Well, whether or not he is telling the truth, fact remains that he is experiencing a political nightmare in his life right now, and there's no turning back. |
