Is Your Bet Obet?

"Obet" Pagdanganan is at it again, but this time running for "reelection".
According to him, he was cheated in the last senatorial election and that
was why he wasn't able to get a seat in the Senate. This time, he's hoping
it doesn't happen again, and is now a member of the People Power Coalition.

major issues do you raise in your platform?

With your experience in politics, what did you learn that you would
like to change in our country?
We must hasten countryside development even while ensuring delivery
of basic services and economic opportunities in urban centers. There
are 61 times more people who live per unit area in Metro Manila or in
urban centers than in rural areas. This must be corrected.
Why did you decide to run for the Senate?
I want to pursue reforms I stated earlier and I want to be an instrument
in building a country we can all be proud of.
Is being a member of a political party a big deal?
Being member of a political party doesn't mean much in the present context
of Philippine politics. What we need is to strengthen political parties
in the Philippines by bringing back to electoral inspectors and providing
subsidies to the top 2 or 3 political parties on the basis of ideology,
programs of government, organization and popular votes obtained in previous
elections. This will result in improvements in the quality of candidates.
Why should we vote for you?
I have a comprehensive appreciation and understanding of the needs of
simple people having come from this sector, being the son of a farmer-carpenter
and a market vendor; of the business sector since I have been a business
executive for 18 years and an entrepreneur myself. And for my platform
