Lounging

Senator Manny Villar was
the former Speaker of the Lower House, and, to him, the Senate is a
rest compared to what he had to do in the House of Representatives.
A speaker has a lot more responsibilities because youre
running two hundred plus congressmen. In a sense, the work here is much
lighter.
I guess no longer being the House Speaker is a load off Villars
back. Now, I have more time to go to the lounge.
But although his responsibilities are less, he says there are very few
differences, and there are very few new things to learn.
There is practically no change...Coming up with good legislation
is a continuing process, he explains, you would think that
after nine years, I wouldve passed enough. But no, every year,
there is a need to pass more and more, and more (laws).
But then, I insist, there has got to be some sort of adjustment you
had to go through Mr. Villar.
Well, this is my first time here in the lounge, I just wanted
to know where the comfort room is and where the lounge is.
So those were the differences he was talking about!
