On With the Program

Joker Arroyo
needs no introduction. We all know him as that impeachment prosecutor
who forever had unfortunate hair. The one who got impatient a lot, but
was still effective. Seeing him on the stand during the Senate session
was like deja vu. Again he was putting humor in what was a very serious
discussion, but you could still hear the irritation when he couldnt
get his word in.
He says that entering the Senate, although very educational, is
hardly any difference between the House of Representatives. The only
difference is that there are only a few members (in the Senate).
(The House has 250 members, the Senate, 24).
With this kind of attitude, adjustment was no mean feat for the Joker.
Its basically the same with the House in that we keep track
of the laws that are being introduced. Its nothing new. Practically
no adjustment.
It must be comforting to know that although Arroyo is new to the Senate,
he has had extensive experience with the law. But though he isnt
new to the legislative process, he is surely going to be an unforgettable
fixture in the Senate for the next six years.
Unless, of course, he finds himself a comb.
